Report: Another Sign That FOX’s “24” Is Coming To an End

A new Entertainment Weekly report adds fuel to the speculative fire regarding “24”‘s impending end date.

According to the story, the major Hollywood talent agencies received word of a casting call for the role of UN Secretary General.

“These are the final episodes, so if some of your name people would like to do something on the show, this is the time for them to do it,” read the announcement, which all but confirms that the show’s current eighth season will be its last.

With FOX expected to pull the plug on the show, which has experienced a notable decline in ratings and critical acclaim this season, there have been reports that NBC is interested in picking up the action-drama. That move, nonetheless, is not considered a particularly likely scenario given the fact that it would require the network to pick up the rather expensive series with virtually no chance that viewership momentum will swing in the positive direction.
