WWE Confirms Very Surprising Third Roster Cut

While Friday’s WWE releases of Gregory “Hurricane” Helms and Paul Burchill were high-profile, they were far from surprising. A third roster cut recently confirmed is both, however.

WWE announced Friday afternoon that Maria Kanellis has been dropped from the company. Maria has made it clear in recent interviews–and by virtue of her music aspirations–that she did not see herself in WWE forever, but the timing of the release is nonetheless quite perplexing.

The WWE Diva is set to appear as one of the celebrities on NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice.” While there were conflicting reports about whether or not Maria would actually appear on WWE television during the upcoming season of the show, the assumption had long been that WWE anticipated benefiting from its Diva’s position on a high-profile reality show.

That apparently will no longer happen.
