“Lost” Premiere Ratings Surge; Show Dominates “Biggest Loser”

A very preliminary ratings report on THRFeed reveals that the sixth and final season permiere of “Lost” cruised upwards from last year’s premiere.

On one of the most stacked television nights of the year, “Lost” premiered to 12.1 million viewers and a 5.6 rating in adults 18-49. Within the demo, the rating climbed about 9% over last year’s premiere, marking the first time since the lackluster second season that “Lost” grew year-over-year.

While full data on the night will be available shortly, what can be confirmed is that “Lost” cleanly defeated NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” from 9-11PM.

According to THR, however, NBC was willing to accept the ratings defeat as moving “Loser” directly head-to-head with “Lost” kept the show out of the “American Idol” crosshairs at 8PM.
