“The Big Bang Theory,” “24,” “Heroes” Ratings All Drop Monday

With the “24” season premiere (11.1 million viewers, 3.4 A18-49 for the two hours) occupying the FOX timeslot usually reserved for “House,” “How I Met Your Mother” continued its ratings growth.

According to fast nationals data from Nielsen, the show rose to a season-high 10.5 million viewers with a 4.0 in the adults 18-49 demographic. The strong “How I Met” performance boosted lead-out “Accidentally on Purpose,” which drew 10.4 million viewers and a 3.5.

Interestingly, CBS’ 9PM block saw a shift. “Two and a Half Men,” which always tops “The Big Bang Theory” in total viewers, also won among adults 18-49. The former posted a 5.3 rating with 16.2 million viewers, while “Bang” was down to a 5.2 with 15 million viewers. “CSI: Miami” wrapped the night up with 13.2 million viewers and a 3.6.

Over on NBC, “Heroes” continued its decline with a series-low 3.9 million viewers and a 1.8. Lead-in “Chuck” was solid but unspectacular with 6.7 million and a 2.5, while “The Jay Leno Show” ended up with a 1.3 and 4.6 million viewers.

ABC’s “The Bachelor” averaged a 3.9 with 10.6 million viewers. “Castle” led out with a 2.8 and 9.4 million viewers.

The CW’s premiere of “Life UneXpected” skewed somewhat older than usual timeslot occupant “Gossip Girl,” averaging a relatively solid 2.7 million viewers but only a 1.2 in the demo. “One Tree Hill” drew 2.2 million with a 1.1.
