Tyra Banks confirmed this week that after five years, “The Tyra Show” is coming to a close.

“This will be the last season of The Tyra Show,” she confirms in an interview with People. “I’ve been loving having fun, coming into your living rooms, bedrooms, hair salons for the past 5 years.”

As Banks continues her production duties on series like “America’s Next Top Model,” she also aims for a successful transition to film via Bankable Studios.

“My next huge steps will allow me to reach more women and young girls to help us all feel as fierce as we truly are,” says Banks.

A source close to Tyra Banks confirmed that Oprah Winfrey’s decision to wrap her talk show likely played a part in encouraging Banks to do the same.

“With Oprah’s big announcement this year, I think that gave Tyra the confidence to get out there and follow her longtime dream of film producing.”

Production on the show wraps in spring 2010.
