CBS Into New Comedy From “Big Bang Theory” Creator

Recent comedies from Chuck Lorre have proven dominant for CBS–“Two and a Half Men” is presently the most-viewed sitcom on television, while “The Big Bang Theory” now posts the highest adults 18-49 rating of any scripted series, comedy or drama.

It thus comes as no surprise that the network is interested in another sitcom from the creator and executive producer.

THR reports that CBS has given a pilot order to “Mike and Molly,” a multicamera sitcom that focuses on a couple struggling with overeating.

Mark Roberts, an executive producer on “Men,” wrote the pilot and will join Lorre in that role for “Molly.”
