ABC Passes on “Eastwick,” FOX Not Interested in New “’70s Show”

— According to THR, FOX opted not to proceed with plans for a new series from “That ’70s Show” co-creator Mark Brazill.

A coming-of-age comedy similar to FOX’s one-time staple, the show had garnered buzz under an early working title “The Rednecks & Romeos.”

Based on analysis of screen tests, FOX ultimately decided to pass on the show; producing studio Warner Bros. TV, however, remains high on the project and will likely try shopping it to other networks.

— ABC, meanwhile, has opted not to order additional episodes of freshman comedy “Eastwick.” Based on the series’ poor ratings, particularly in adults 18-49, no other verdict should have been expected.

Fellow new series “The Forgotten,” meanwhile, received an order for five additional episodes from ABC.
