WWE Reveals RAW Plans, Latest Backstage WWE News on Hogan

— WWE confirmed Friday that its three-hour RAW on December 14 will feature another edition of the “Slammy Awards.”

To be guest-hosted by comedian Dennis Miller, the show will feature awards for Superstar, Match and Diva of the year (presumably among others).

— The story that WWE had been in touch with Hulk Hogan about guest-hosting RAW shortly before he signed with TNA came up independently of Hulk Hogan’s interviews, although there is still some speculation that Hogan was the sole source responsible for disseminating the story.

In any event, it is said that while WWE Chairman Vince McMahon might have been surprised by the Hogan-TNA announcement, he did not show much of a reaction at the SmackDown! tapings that week. And, as has been well documented, the entire situation was fully downplayed when the rating for iMPACT! made only a minor jump–a jump which did not extend to the Hulk Hogan announcement quarter hour. 1. How did the WWE let Hogan sign with TNA. What a mistake Vince! Hogan belongs with the WWE. I’m very disappointed and surprised. I know this is a business, but what about loyalty to the person who got you to the top??

  2. Hogan helped Vince get to the top no question, however, without Vince, Hogan would just be another “ham and egger”. What put WWE over the top was guys like Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin, the Rock, Triple H and now John Cena. Recall when he joined WCW, it revived his career and later he returned to WWE. He will return again. So joining TNA really only helps Hogan.

  3. I laugh when you say loyalty because you obviously forgot when Hogan signed to WCW in the early ’90s. His loyalty is to the color green, it’s as simple as that. I’m hoping he will be a big help to TNA, especially since they’re now starting to get things together. Yes it’s still a little chaotic here and there but nonetheless it’s getting more and more solid with each passing week(though sometimes they do take 2 steps back). Hopefully they’ll continue to push the younger talent like they have been lately and Hogan will not affect that at all(if Carter is really wanting this like she says she does then he wont since its a priority to her)
