ABC’s “V” Debuts To Monster Ratings, Outperforms “NCIS”

Preliminary ratings data reveals that ABC’s “V” won its first primetime outing in the key adults 18-49 demographic.

THRFeed’s first wave of Nielsen data for Tuesday reveals that the show debuted to a 5.0 demo rating with 13.9 million viewers. If the data holds, it would not only cement “V” as the top-rated show for the evening but would also rank “V”‘s debut as the best premiere this season.

“The Cleveland Show” had previously held the new series high mark with a 4.9 rating; even if “V” ends up falling short of that figure, it deserves credit for posting a strong rating as the opener for ABC’s Tuesday lineup. “Cleveland” was sandwiched between audience-relevant “The Simpsons” and “Family Guy” for its debut.

As usual, CBS’ “NCIS” won the night in viewers (19.4 million), although its 18-49 figure was a 4.2 and thus second to “V.”
