Will Undertaker Retire From WWE?, Latest On His Status

— As Undertaker was making his WWE return this summer, talk quickly moved to the fact that he was not physically at 100%. Undertaker’s very noticeable wear-and-tear led to speculation that he would be retiring come WrestleMania 26.

While the aforementioned reality, combined with Undertaker’s own acknowledgment that he is not in peak condition, is still fueling such speculation, there is presently no indication that Taker is planning to retire.

The wrestler is currently being advertised for an Australian tour in the summer of 2010. WWE’s advertisement campaigns are produced prematurely and are thus not always good indicators of what will happen in the company’s future, but the fact that WWE is already billing Taker for events next year cements the idea that he has not at all committed to a retirement at WrestleMania 26.

Further, most close to the situation believe Undertaker, at least in the next few years, would not retire in a “definitive” manner; he would at least keep the option open for limited in-ring appearances.

And, if that evidence does not make Undertaker fans somewhat hopeful that the World Champion will continue beyond WM26, history also provides some optimism. There had been talk as early as 1998 that Undertaker would have to walk away due to his injuries, and he has managed to continue competing for more than ten years.

  1. hey i been a fan of the undertaker since he was in wcw as meanmark. well if he retires from wwe i wish him luck in the future.

  2. I’d rather ‘Taker never retire, but the dude’s also been wrestling for 20+ years and in the last few years he’s done some pretty sick damage to himself. When he does go out, he should take his perfect Mania streak with him (considering how few titles he has to his namesake) and it should be at the PPV he debuted at: Survivor Series.

  3. i believe he will end up with a lifetime contract with WWE, being a motivational speaker, much like Freddie Blassie. HBk will prob gat one too

  5. Hi everyone, – spotted your webpage due to pure luck when wandering around the web this evening, and happy that I did! I do like the layout and colors, but I ought to say that I’m having difficulties when it loads. I’m making use of WaMCom 1.1 browser for mac, and the menu block will not lineup fully. i am confident I’ve used a matching design on a company’s web site, but the menu seems O.k on mine. I think the problem is with my outdated browser & maybe it’s time to change!
