“Glee” Ratings Strong as “Modern Family” Falls

For the first time since “Modern Family” debuted, “Glee” won the battle of critically-acclaimed comedies.

Behind only “Criminal Minds” (13.5 million viewers, 3.5 demo rating) in the 18-49 demographic, “Glee” slightly rose for episode six with 7.3 million viewers and a 3.3 in the young adults demographic.

“Modern Family,” meanwhile, took a notable tumble to 8.5 million viewers and a 3.2 in the demographic. Also head-to-head with the musical FOX comedy, “Cougar Town” dipped to 7.8 million with a 3.1 rating.

ABC’s other comedies also underperformed. “Hank” dropped significantly to a 1.6 demo rating with 6.7 million viewers while “The Middle” posted a 2.1 with 6.8 million. “Eastwick” did just 5.3 million viewers with a 1.6.
