An Even Bigger “How I Met Your Mother” Spoiler Revealed

Last week, reports on the one hundredth episode of “How I Met Your Mother” revealed two major spoilers for the milestone moment of the CBS comedy series.

This week, the ante has been upped. Entertainment Weekly provides a scoop of major relevance to fans of the Emmy-nominated show.

According to a casting report, “The OC” star Rachel Bilson has been booked as the pivotal female character for the episode.

It should be noted that while creator Craig Thomas teased “serious mother action” (as in, the episode will “go bananas” with teasing the reveal of the titular ‘mother’ to Ted Mosby’s children), there has been no indication that Bilson will actually be the mother. In fact, the general consensus is that while Rachel Bilson’ character will likely be connected to the mother character in some way, she will not at all be that pivotal individual.

Nonetheless, Thomas did say that they put an extensive effort into casting the female character for this role.

The one hundredth episode, which airs this winter, also features an elaborate musical number with Neil Patrick Harris’ Barney character.
