Glenn Close, Bryan Cranston Again Win Lead Acting Emmys

The Lead Acting-Drama Awards belonged to basic cable series stars, as Glenn Close and Bryan Cranston repeated in the Actress and Actor categories, respectively.

Close won again for her work on FX’s “Damages.” She beat out a talented pool of actresses that included Sally Field (“Brothers & Sisters”), Mariska Hargitay (“Law & Order: SVU”), Holly Hunter (“Saving Grace”), Kyra Sedgwick (“The Closer”) and Elisabeth Moss (“Mad Men”).

On the acting front, Cranston, from AMC’s “Breaking Bad,” defeated Simon Baker (“The Mentalist”), Gabriel Byrne (“In Treatment”), Michael C. Hall (“Dexter”), Jon Hamm (“Mad Men”) and Hugh Laurie (“House”).
