Jay-Z Stays Ahead of Muse, Drake, Kid Cudi, Whitney Houston (Album Sales)

With singles “Run This Town” and “Empire State of Mind” presently all over the place, week two of Jay-Z’s “The Blueprint 3” will be another good one.

The album is poised to stay on top of the pack with over 200,000 sales for its second week, according to Hits Daily Double estimates. It debuted atop the Billboard 200 for its premiere week with 476,000 sales.

New entries battling out for runner-up slots include Muse’s “The Resistance” and Kid Cudi’s “Man on the Moon.” At press time, Muse was tracking for the lead (120-125,000 vs. 110-120,000). Whitney Houston’s “I Look to You,” fueled by the diva’s recent Oprah appearance, should stay in the mix with a similar sales total.

Also new to the charts this week: Drake’s “So Far Gone” EP (55-60,000), Lil Boosie’s “Superbad” (45-50,000), Megadeth’s “Endgame” (40-45,000), Mark Knopfler’s “Get Lucky” (Honor Society’s “Fashionably Late” (28-30,000), Ace Frehley’s “Anomaly” (12-15,000) and Trick Daddy’s “Finally Famous” (12-15,000).
