Details on Kanye West’s Encounter With Taylor Swift’s Mom

In his initial apology for the Video Music Awards incident, rapper Kanye West referenced a backstage conversation he had with Taylor Swift’s mother Andrea.

“I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD’VE SAID,” wrote West.

According to People Magazine, said conversation was quite heated, with a backstage source saying Andrea Swift “tore into him.”

The conversation happened moments after West interrupted Swift on stage–as Taylor was focused on performing her “You Belong With Me” on the telecast.

Sources say that even in the face of Swift’s mother, West refused to relent in his belief that Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” was deserving of the Best Female video award.

West would offer a more pointed apology Monday afternoon, before further denouncing his own actions on the series premiere of NBC’s “The Jay Leno Show.”
