Miley Cyrus, Jay-Z Set For Big Chart Moves

Billboard gave an early preview of next week’s Hot 100 singles chart, forecasting major shakeups at the top of the list.

The music magazine said that Miley Cyrus’ new single “Party in the USA” could land in the top five with an estimated 200,000 digital sales. Since Cyrus performed the song at the Teen Choice Awards, the single has stayed put atop the iTunes sales chart. Cyrus’ highest chart debut to-date is hit “The Climb,” which started at number six on the Hot 100.

Cyrus should also have a debut in the top thirty with “Send it On,” a charity single featuring fellow Disney stars Demi Lovato, the Jonas Brothers and Selena Gomez. It could sell in the 70-85,000 range.

Close behind is Jay-Z’s “Run This Town (featuring Kanye West and Rihanna).” On track for downloads in the 150-170,000 range, a move into the Top 10 is possible. The song appeared at number 66 on this week’s Hot 100 chart.

Meanwhile, Billboard guesses that two records will be broken on next week’s chart. Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” is set to spend its record 70th week on the Hot 100, while the expected eighth consecutive week at number one for the Black Eyed Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling” would give the group its record 20th week of chart dominance (“Boom Boom Pow” preceded “Feeling” with a lengthy chart run).
