Brooks & Dunn Explain Breakup

In an interview taped for CMT, legendary country performer Kix Brooks explains that his breakup with Ronnie Dunn was not due to a personal conflict.

“It’s too good a horse to ride it into the ground,” says Brooks, adding, “We’re still good friends. I’m proud to say we’ve never had a fight, never even yelled at each other. And that’s the truth.”

Dunn added that the two have essentially become brothers after twenty years of performing together.

According to Brooks, the decision to split came while working on their new album; Brooks said they both agreed, “You know what? I just think we’ve just kind of exhausted it.”

The two are reportedly both working on solo albums to follow their upcoming “Number 1s and Then Some” and their 2010 farewell tour.
