— The “True Blood” phenomenon keeps getting bigger for HBO. The most recent airing of the show set a series record with 4.43 million viewers; come season finale time, the show might very well hit the 5 million mark. “Hung” and “Entourage” continue to do solid numbers as lead-outs.

— Paula Abdul is in talks to guest star on “Ugly Betty.” In other “Ugly Betty” news, sources also say that Yaya Dacosta will takeover the role of Nico (Wilhelmina’s daughter). Jowharah Jones originated the character.

— “Friday Night Lights” original Zach Gilford will now be appearing in seven fourth season episodes before departing the series. He had originally been booked for only five.

— Though specifics are not yet available, “House” doctors Cameron and Chase will be back in their diagnostic jobs this season, giving assistance to interim department leader Foreman, who fills in for the rehabilitating Dr. House.
