— With media reports discussing Jerry Springer’s presence in Stamford, Connecticut, there are rumors that Springer is in talks to host an upcoming episode of RAW. While the idea of Springer hosting RAW cannot categorically be ruled out–his appeal, after all, is demographically similar to that of potential hosts Bob Barker and Al Sharpton–a meeting with WWE is not the reason Springer is in the region. Rather, the long-running talk show host is in town to tape episodes of his syndicated show at Stamford’s Rich Forum, to where the program relocated after leaving the Chicago area.
— Hurricane Helms and Velvet Sky have apparently broken up. “All good things must come to an end,” said Helms, presumably in reference to the split.
— Time Magazine’s website team appears way behind the times regarding the world of pro wrestling. In an article about the “Top 10 Worst Corporate Name Changes” (in response to news that Radio Shack will drop the Radio from its name), Time.com lists the WWF-to-WWE switch as number seven. Noting Linda McMahon’s explanation that the “E” better emphasizes the company’s entertainment value, the author writes, “The comment didn’t do much to stamp out persistent rumors that the fights are rigged — but hey, at least she was honest.” If only we could put a stop to those persistent rumors that the Earth orbits around the Sun.
Sorry for Helms. It’s not the worst thing in the world, but it still sucks to hear things like that. They were together for so long, and she is unbearably hot. Landing a girl that smoking speaks volumes of any man.
