— Disney’s crossover special “Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana,” featuring 90 minutes of crossover material from “Wizards of Waverly Place,” “The Suite Life on Deck” and “Hannah Montana,” dominated television Friday, scoring 9.3 million viewers. The figure gave Disney the biggest scripted telecast on cable this year, as well as the biggest telecast in the 6-11 and 9-14 demographics on any network.

— Amber Clayton will join new CBS medical drama “Three Rivers” as a witty, young ER doctor. Julia Ormond’s character, meanwhile, is being recast.

— Adam Beach is joining the “Big Love” cast as a recurring for the fourth season.

— “Top Chef” host Padma Lakshmi has scored a developmental deal at NBC; current plans call for Lakshmi to star in a half-hour comedy. Charlie Corwin, tapped to executive produce, is teaming with Lakshmi to pitch ideas for the series–reportedly about a woman working in the culinary industry–to writers.
