Commercial Spurs Rumors On Jeff Hardy’s WWE Status

An advertisement in the United Kingdom has spurred new speculation about Jeff Hardy’s WWE status.

According to PWTorch.com, an updated commercial started running in promotion of the company’s upcoming UK tour–the most recent ads list Undertaker, CM Punk and Jeff Hardy as the top draws.

Since Jeff Hardy has replaced Edge in the advertisements, an indication that the commercial was recently changed to reflect Edge’s injury, the speculation on numerous websites is that WWE is now optimistic about Jeff Hardy’s long-term status with the company.

While the ad is certainly not a bad sign, it should be noted that advertisements do not always accurately reflect WWE’s long-term plans–for instance, new commercials in Baltimore list Edge, The Undertaker and Jeff Hardy for an upcoming show (Edge definitely will not be wrestling, and at least one of the others will also miss the show), and WWE very often lists championship matches on post-PPV house show cards that do not prove consistent with plans. Further, neither WWE nor Jeff Hardy has formally confirmed a new development in the contract negotiations.

As an additional note, the backstage word for the past several weeks has been that even if Hardy does sign a contract renewal this month, he still intends to embark on a hiatus at the end of the summer.
