ECW Rating: Did The New Talent Initiative Pay Off?

The early verdict on ECW’s new talent initiative is a positive one.

According to a preliminary report on F4WOnline.com, this week’s ECW did a 1.3 rating for SyFy. While that number is not setting the world on fire, it marks an increase from the 1.2 the show scored in its most recent Tuesday airing.

Adding significance to the slight increase is the fact that ECW went up against the MLB All-Star Game and followed an edition of RAW that scored a lukewarm 3.5 rating. While neither should have been expected to kill the rating this week, the two factors do indicate that there was no special driver for this week’s rating–it is an organic increase.

ECW lost some key players in the recent Superstar trade and has since added names from developmental territory FCW. This week’s rating is a mildly positive sign.
