News and notes (spoiler warning) via EW.com.

– “Gossip Girl” has two interesting romance storylines coming. Sources say Dan will have a “controversial hookup” in the early part of season three. Meanwhile, Vanessa will begin a relationship with someone she “met briefly at the end of last season.”

– “Fringe” is expected to open its second season with a segment that rivals the show-stopping season one finale in magnitude.

– Word has already broken that Laura Leighton’s Sydney will appear dead in the “Melrose Place” pilot, with much of the first season devoted to solving her murder. EW reports that said twist is not the only major Sydney-centric plot development booked for the remake of the 1990s soap.

I am ultra depressed that Lost is over. I can’t believe we are watching the final season tonight. What are we going to do each week. Josh Holloway is so attractive! Where can I see him in the next show? Is there going to be a sequel?
