Major Details On Edge’s Injury

All indications are that the injury Edge appeared to suffer at Friday’s San Diego house show is indeed a legitimate and serious one.

The internal belief is that Edge’s injury, which occurred early into his match with Jeff Hardy, is a torn Achilles tendon. If indeed the correct diagnosis, the injury would call for Edge to miss several months of action due to its strong tendency to require surgery.

At press time, WWE was preparing a storyline response to the legitimate injury. Edge and Chris Jericho hold the Unified Tag Team Championship, so WWE will have to determine how to get the belts off of that duo, and presumably onto Legacy members Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes.

According to F4WOnline.com, WWE was also evaluating Edge’s taped SmackDown! match with The Great Khali to determine if there is a spot WWE can use to claim Edge suffered the injury in that match.

Again, this all hinges on the notion that Edge did indeed suffer a torn Achilles tendon. If the injury is not as serious, WWE might opt to keep the belts on the high-profile duo.
