Sony announced that two of its anticipated 2010 films have received new release dates.

“The Green Hornet,” the comic adaptation starring Seth Rogen and Stephen Chow, is now slated to hit theatres on July 9, 2010. The film, penned by Rogen and frequent collaborator Evan Goldberg, was originally due on June 25.

That date is instead being reserved for “Grown Ups,” the anticipated Adam Sandler film also featuring Chris Rock, Kevin James, David Spade and Rob Schneider. The film follows a group of high school buddies who reunite decades later.

The two films bookend anticipated competitors in “The Twilight Saga: The Eclipse” and “The Last Airbender.” “Hornet” goes head-to-head with “Despicable Me” and “Predators.”
