Despite not being the absolute lead on the series, Katherine Heigl has spent the past few seasons as the talk of ABC’s hit drama “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Last year, she made headlines for withdrawing herself from Emmy consideration due to complaints about the creative direction of her character. Earlier this season, Heigl, who has won an Emmy for her role on the show, was named in a report about major cast members leaving the series.

According to THR, however, Heigl will be back on the show. Though ABC has opted not to confirm casting stories, Heigl’s Izzie will reportedly return after the cliffhanger season five ending–inside sources claim the show has picked up the option on Heigl’s contract.

T.R. Knight, another cast member in departure rumors, will be leaving the show, however.
