More Inside News on Tonight’s WWE Extreme Rules

— One of the interesting complications of tonight’s show is the fact that the “Extreme Rules” concept seems to directly clash with WWE’s new PG stance against featuring excess blood in the matches. Some have specifically pointed to the Randy Orton vs. Batista steel cage match as one that could directly benefit from the cheap “blood heat.”

— Kofi Kingston and MVP received strong reviews for their recent work on television, and WWE hopes the two can expand their chemistry to tonight’s four-way match. WWE also views the four-way as an opportunity to allow Hardy to work on the show without exposing his injured hand to a maximum level of risk.

— Given the number of matches on the card and the stipulation, the CM Punk vs. Umaga match will likely be relatively short.
