Update on New Shows Coming to CBS

While CBS has not followed ABC, NBC and FOX in preceding this week’s upfront presentations with detailed scheduling announcements, it has given heavy indication as to which new shows will likely receive slots on its fall schedule.

Variety reports that CBS has given the greenlight for staffing on dramas “The Good Wife,” which stars Julianna Margulies as a politician’s wife who goes to work for a law firm, “Three Rivers,” which chronicles the organ donation process from three perspectives (the doctors, donors and patients), “Miami Trauma,” another medical drama and the “NCIS” spin-off with LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell.

Jenna Elfman vehicle “Accidentally on Purpose” is the only comedy pilot being considered a lock for CBS’ fall schedule.  The lack of buzz surrounding comedy pickups suggests that existing comedies “Rules of Engagement” and “Gary Unmarried” are in decent shape for renewals.  “How I Met Your Mother” has not been formally renewed by the network but is an absolute lock for a fifth season.
