Mirko “Cro Cop” Set for UFC Return

Ultimate Fighting Championship UFC 70 - Nations Collide

Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic has confirmed the date of his long-awaited return to competition in UFC’s “Octagon.”

According to a press release on his official website, the Croatian striker will face heavyweight fighter Mustapha al-Turk in his first UFC bout since losing to Cheick Kongo. The fight takes place at UFC 99 on June 13.

Since embarking on a hiatus from UFC competition in the wake of losses to Kongo and Gabriel Gonzaga, Cro Cop has defeated Tatsuya Mizuno and Hong Man Choi; he fought Alistair Overeem to a no contest.

al-Turk is 0-1 in the UFC, having lost his only bout via TKO to Kongo.
