Good News For “Wall Street” Sequel

First dismissed as baseless fan speculation, a sequel to the critically-acclaimed “Wall Street” took a big step towards reality.

According to THR, Michael Douglas, who won an Academy Award for his performance in the first film, will reprise his role as Gordon Gekko, while Oliver Stone will be back to direct.

Tentatively called “Wall Street 2,” the film picks up with Gekko, presumably with his federal legal issues in the past, offering his cutthroat, larger-than-life mentorship to another young Wall Street hopeful.

Shia LeBeouf is in talks to play the young financier.
